MDE is a difficult subject to learn. This is further complicated by the accidental complexity introduced by existing modelling tools. Students need to learn how to install complex tool chains, make them work together, and then need to navigate complex user interfaces to understand how to do the tasks they are currently trying to achieve. To mitigate these issues and allow students to focus on the learning of MDE concepts, we have developed the MDENet Education Platform—an online, playground-based platform for teaching and learning MDE. In this tutorial, participants will learn-through interactive use of the platform-how to create assignments on the platform, how to interact with the platform as a student, and how to contribute to the platform and its capabilities.
